Explain how the principles of servant leadership are evident in your chosen culture and religion.

The purpose of this assignment is to examine servant leadership practices with regard to religions and cultures other than those associated with Christianity.
While servant leadership is often associated with Christianity and the Bible, one could argue that it is compatible with most religions and philosophies and that it transcends cultures.
This assignment presents you with an opportunity to explore other cultures, philosophies, and religions and asks you to think critically about how servant leadership practices are apparent in other religions and cultures.
Begin by selecting and examining one cultural context and one religious viewpoint outside of mainstream Christianity. In a 1,250 -1,500 word essay, discuss the following:
Explain how the principles of servant leadership are evident in your chosen culture and religion.
Identify similarities and differences between servant leadership philosophies and the values from your selected cultural context and religious viewpoint.
Identify specific examples of servant leadership practices evident in your chosen culture and religion.
You are required to locate a total of four articles that address servant leadership in your chosen cultural context and religious viewpoint. Two of the articles should examine servant leadership from a different cultural perspective and two articles should examine servant leadership from a different religious perspective. The articles must be peer-reviewed and have been published within the last 5 years. You must use and cite the articles within each content area in your paper to strengthen your claims.

Summarize the topics you discussed and share your interviewees’ responses (you may paraphrase and quote).

Identify two people or a caregiver (as in the case of an infant), who represent two different stages of the life span—ideally, two who do not identify with your own current stage of life span development—and set up an brief 15–20 minute interview with them for this assignment.
For example, select an adolescent and a senior in late adulthood, or the parent of a newborn and a child in late childhood.
Conversationally interview these two people in order to compare what you have learned here in class, through the textbook, lectures, and videos, with their perception of what it is actually like to be in their stage of life.
Interviews may be done via phone, Skype, email, etc. Take notes or record (with permission) your interview.
Below are some suggestions for your conversation. You do not need to cover all of these topics in your paper, but they will help you shape your discussion. Be sure to note which topics you discuss.
In your write up, tell us the gender, age, identified life stage of development, and cultural identification(s) of the individuals you interviewed. Be sure to maintain each individual’s privacy and confidentiality when asked to do so. Summarize the topics you discussed and share your interviewees’ responses (you may paraphrase and quote).
In your paper, after you have shared what the interviewees discussed, share your thoughts on the process of talking with someone about their place in the life span. Did you learn anything from your conversations that you did not learn in the academic materials?
How accurate do you think psychologists have been in identifying and classifying the different life stages? Explain.
Be sure to include a brief introduction and a conclusion to your paper.
Use current APA Style throughout, include a title page, cite your interviews parenthetically within the paper, and include a reference page for any other resources you use, such as your text or course materials.

When discussing architecture try to use design vocabulary like, line, shapes, colors, volume (height and width), mass, balance, repetition, and light/shadow as starting points.

Liking and disliking something requires feelings. Therefore you will need to imagine yourself within the space you select (no field trips, sorry). Picture yourself entering the space and walking through it. What feelings do you get, are they positive or negative feelings?
Try to pin-point what it is about the space that gives you either the positive or negative feeling. When discussing architecture try to use design vocabulary like, line, shapes, colors, volume (height and width), mass, balance, repetition, and light/shadow as starting points. These concepts are defined on page xxvi in the Starter Kit section of your textbook. Also, architecture in general is further explained on page xxx in the Starter Kit.
For example:
As I imagine entering this space with high vaulted ceilings, I would look up and see light streaming through the stained-glass windows. The act of looking up is like looking up to heaven and would make me feel like I am seeking God. The contrast of the colored windows against the dull cold stone would draw my eyes to the story being told there. The repetition of the pillars makes my eyes follow a visual path, where I end up finding a holy object, much like a pilgrimage.

Remember: 650 words is your limit, not your goal.

The essay demonstrates your ability to write clearly and concisely on a selected topic and helps you distinguish yourself in your own voice. What do you want the readers of your application to know about you apart from courses, grades, and test scores? Choose the option that best helps you answer that question and write an essay of no more than 650 words, using the prompt to inspire and structure your response. Remember: 650 words is your limit, not your goal. Use the full range if you need it, but don’t feel obligated to do so. (The application won’t accept a response shorter than 250 words.)
Some students have a background, identity, interest, or talent that is so meaningful they believe their application would be incomplete without it. If this sounds like you, then please share your story.
The lessons we take from obstacles we encounter can be fundamental to later success. Recount a time when you faced a challenge, setback, or failure. How did it affect you, and what did you learn from the experience?

1. Each year, movie theaters draw crowds hoping to catch the next horror movie. There’s a car accident; traffic slows because everyone wants to look. Tragedy strikes and all of a sudden it’s the only news you see in papers, TV and on social media. What is it about the grotesque that intrigues people?

– reflect on how you learn.

Please read Goodson and Yero’s articles, about stories and myths that govern teaching and learning-some born of our experiences and others commonly accepted cultural myths.
Yero’s article points out that teachers are as diverse in the ways in which they teach as learners as in the ways they learn. It is also true that we learn different things differently – sometimes it is easier to learn a concept in collaboration, at times self-learning is best, at times learning from a peer, visual learning, doing an activity and so on. Goodson’s article
In your response paper –
– reflect on how you learn.
Describe something difficult that you have learned and what strategies you used to master the material or the concept or the skill.
– Think of what the learning environment looked like and describe that.
– Now take a photograph or draw an ideal learning environment for you as a learner. You can upload your drawing, a picture you found on the internet or a photograph taken by you. Why is this an ideal learning environment for you as a learner?
Reflect: How does Yero’s article help you in thinking of yourself as a learner (even if she is referring to teachers). What if anything did you understand about teaching through this article and your own reflections of how you learn.
